Trade Department Adds to the List of Goods Requiring an Import /Export License

Recently, the Trade Department of the Ministry of Commerce issued Newsletter No. 2/2022 for additional items requiring an import license. This follows previous action by the department of adding commodity lines 3070 (Newsletter No. 18/2021) and 826 (Newsletter No. 1/2022) to the list of those requiring an import license.

Effective from 2 March 2022, the importation of commodity lines under the Customs Tariff of Myanmar 2017 for wheat and plastic raw materials (an additional 141 items) requires an import license.

On 9 March 2022, the Trade Department issued Newsletter No. 3/2022 on additions to the list of goods requiring an export license. The Trade Department announced that starting from 1 April 2022, corn, cereal flour, and other similar goods (an additional 12 items) will require an export license for exportation.

The requirements for an import license and export license under these newsletters are applicable for importation or exportation via land, sea, and air.
