
Healthcare PPP Invitation for Bids Issued
May 27, 2022Tenders for a PPP project issued on 16 May 2022, named “Invitation for Bid (IFB) Notice for Establishment of 50-seat medical college and nursing institute and modernization of existing Railway Hospital to 250 beds at Kamalapur Dhaka on PPP mode’ with a closing date of 18 July 2022.
As a continuous effort to expand its social services, Bangladesh Railway is working on the upgrade and modernization of the Kamalapur railway Hospital. The existing hospital at Kamalapur is being upgraded to a 250-bed hospital, including a 50-seat medical college and nursing institute to be constructed on the unused land near Kamalapur station within the existing hospital complex; the upgrades will be completed by way of a PPP model.
The proposed project was provided in-principal approval by the Cabinet Committee for Economic Affairs (CCEA) on 14 August 2013.
The main goals of these projects are:
- To provide medical services to the general public as well as Bangladesh Railway’s employees.
- To increase the revenue earning potential of Bangladesh Railway.
- To ensure more efficient utilization of Bangladesh Railway assets.
